Emma Arriaga
As an alumna of UC Davis, class of 2024, I spent three years of my undergrad as a student intern with the Museum, where I had the opportunity to develop skills for curation and prep. I quickly grew a passion for our collection and its importance for wildlife conservation. My current position as Staff Research Associate consists of a variety of projects to continue the Museum’s dedication to research and vertebrate natural history. My main focus is preparing California bat specimens, received from CDFW, to expand and diversify our bat collection. I also assist with fieldwork and data management for the California Delta terrestrial wildlife monitoring project. I coordinate the student Remora program ensuring undergrads the ability to shadow and apply for student intern positions with the museum. Other duties I have include curating the Museum's bird and mammals collection, training incoming interns, and providing educational tours and events to the public.
