Biography
As an undergraduate Wildlife, Fish and Conservation Biology major, I learned to prepare specimens as a student intern for the Museum of Wildlife and Fish Biology. After graduation, I continued to work for the Museum as an assistant museum scientist. Under this title I was a field leader for the Putah Creek Nestbox Project, a specimen preparator, collected birds in the Sacramento Valley, worked on an international project in Cambodia and lead multiple museum tours. I left to obtain my Master’s in animal behavior at the University of Manitoba, studying Franklin’s ground squirrel (Poliocitellus franklinii) sociality. Recently, I returned to the Museum, and I’m currently working on the California Delta Biomonitoring Project, both in the field and via statistical analysis and report writing. I continue as a specimen preparator and have over 800 specimens completed to date.
